About the founder
Yuriy Matso.
Yuriy builds trading research systems on data he maintains himself. The Trading Tools is the public face of that work: free market internals, base-rate signals, 13F portfolios, and economic indicators, recomputed every trading day from a ~5,500-stock daily price database, each with a dated plain-English reading and the methodology in the open.
The site grew out of two earlier projects. SystemTrader is his systematic-strategy research platform — the original home of the breadth engines, the Hindenburg Omen tracker, and the price database this site runs on. Futalgo is his algorithmic-trading project for futures markets. The Trading Tools takes the instruments those projects needed internally and publishes them for anyone.
The editorial stance across all of it is the same: measured, not opined. Every number is computed from named sources, every reading is dated, and every analytical claim states what would prove it wrong. How AI fits into the workflow is documented on How we use AI.
