Yuriy Matso.

Founder of thetrading.tools · author of the Research Letter

Yuriy builds trading research systems on data he maintains himself. thetrading.tools is the public face of that work: free market internals, base-rate signals, 13F portfolios, and economic indicators, recomputed every trading day from a ~5,500-stock daily price database, each with a dated plain-English reading and the methodology in the open. The narrative layer — what the gauges mean when they start agreeing with each other — ships as the Research Letter on Substack.

He holds two graduate degrees — a Master’s in International Economics from the Lviv Academy of Commerce (Ukraine) and a Master’s in International Management from the University of California, San Diego. He began his career as a business analyst at KPMG, then served as an Investment Director for a private-equity fund before turning to markets full-time, developing algorithmic strategies for NQ and ES futures and for US equities. The database, breadth engines, and intraday gauges on this site grew out of the instruments that work required.

The editorial stance across all of it is the same: measured, not opined. Every number is computed from named sources, every reading is dated, and every analytical claim states what would prove it wrong. How AI fits into the workflow is documented on How we use AI.
