Privacy Policy

We collect no personal information. Every page is public and reading it requires no account, login, or signup — there is no account system on this site at all. We do not run advertising pixels. For aggregate traffic measurement we use two services. Plausible Analytics is an EU-based, cookieless service that stores no persistent identifiers. Google Analytics 4 (since 22 October 2026) sets first-party cookies with a random identifier, outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, so that it can count returning visitors; it reports to us which pages are read, how visitors arrived and roughly which country they came from, in aggregate. We do not use either to identify you, and we have not enabled Google's advertising features or linked the data to any advertising account.

There is no paid tier, no sign-up and no billing. The Site briefly offered a subscription with email-and-password sign-in and Stripe payments; it was withdrawn on 31 August 2026 and every tool is now free. We hold no accounts, no passwords and no billing records.

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may automatically process basic, non-identifying technical request data (such as IP address and user-agent) in server logs for security and to deliver the page. We do not use this data to build profiles of visitors, and we do not combine it with any other information.

We hold no account information to use. Any technical request data handled by our infrastructure is used only to operate and secure the Site. We do not profile visitors and we sell nothing.

The optional research-letter forms open Substack's subscription page with the email address you entered. That address is sent to Substack, not to this site's server or analytics. Substack handles the subscription, email delivery, and any payment for its separate paid letters under its own privacy policy. The tools on this site remain free.

The Trading Tools does not set advertising cookies and does not embed advertising trackers. We use two measurement tools. Plausible is deliberately cookieless: nothing is stored on your device, and measurement is aggregate-only (page paths, referrer domains, country, device class, and anonymous interaction events such as chart-range clicks or CSV downloads — never keystrokes, form contents, or identity). Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) holding a random identifier, which lets it tell a new visitor from a returning one; Google processes the data under its own terms (policies.google.com/privacy). You can block these cookies in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and the Site will work the same. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland get no Google Analytics cookie: there it runs in a cookieless mode that sends Google an aggregate signal without storing anything on the device. Plausible's data policy is public at plausible.io/data-policy.

We set no authentication cookies, because there is nothing to sign in to.

Research-letter invitations record aggregate Plausible events when an invitation is at least halfway visible and when a visitor continues to Substack. These events contain the page path and invitation placement, never an email address. Continuing to Substack is not a confirmed subscription. A browser storage flag remembers when you hide an invitation or continue to Substack, so the other invitations stay hidden; it contains no email address and is not sent to us.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we hold none to share. Our hosting provider processes request data as needed to serve the Site. Beyond that, we may disclose data only where required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the Site.

The Site is delivered through a hosting/CDN provider and displays data sourced from third parties (including the Federal Reserve's FRED service, SEC EDGAR, and market-data providers). These providers have their own privacy practices governing any data they process.

The Site is served over HTTPS. We hold no card data, no passwords and no accounts, so there is no personal data of yours for us to secure or retain.

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grant rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you. For visitors to this Site, we collect and store nothing, so there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you held an account during the period the Site offered a subscription, contact us at the address below and we will confirm what, if anything, remains. We do not sell personal information.

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
