Latest reading

As of October 6, 2026, Wholesale Diesel (NY Harbor ULSD ($/gallon)) stands at $4.713 — up from $4.628 the prior reading, 12% below the September 16, 2026 record of $5.365. Diesel is the tightest product in the barrel: the US exports it heavily, Europe imports it, and refinery closures hit distillate yield first. Multiply by 42 and subtract WTI for the diesel crack. When diesel runs far above gasoline (2022, 2026) the spread between the two legs is itself the story: distillate is short. A general refining boom would lift both cracks together. Series history runs from 2006 to present.
