    The all-commodities producer price index rose 1.0% in August. The annual rate climbed from 8.7% in July, though it remains below May's 12.2%.

    The oil fund USO closed at $158.38, its highest since June 2015. The latest Brent print, for Wednesday, was $109.51 a barrel, 62% above a year earlier.

    A Form 4 filed Thursday showed Dara Khosrowshahi bought 141,000 shares on the open market at an average of about $70.96. The stock rose 2.1% to $72.56 on nearly twice its average volume.
